This article presents a social and environmental mechanistic analysis of the use of Vetiver grass in communities to prevent landslides, aiming to achieve sustainable development goals. The study is based on case examples from four communities in Thailand. The analysis refers to social change theory to examine the roles of community leaders, sources of information, resources, and strategies in promoting the sustainable use of Vetiver grass in each area. The research findings indicate that the promotion strategies by community leaders must align with the specific context of each community to ensure the sustainable utilization of Vetiver grass, which also supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, 11, 13, and 15.🌍
