The EDS Program at Chulalongkorn University is unique among degrees from post-graduate institutions in Asia and the Pacific in that it provides an integrated approach to topics like sustainable development and the environment.
Instead of focusing only on environment and development studies, the EDS studies also cover areas such as business and trade strategies for environmental management, energy planning, poverty reduction, natural resource management, green building and urban development in addition to core climate and ecosystem topics like climate change, soil degradation, biological diversity and pollution.
Looking at the global, regional, and local scales of development, lecturers from universities and institutions from around the world share their experiences from working with groups as large as the United Nations and as small as community-driven initiatives. The EDS Program’s objective is to broaden the horizons of students to integrate their studies across various sub-disciplines in both the natural and social sciences so that their results lead to sound public policy and good governance.
