Chulalongkorn University, Social Research Institute (CUSRI) Joins the First UNCCRD Delta Summit 2025 for Sustainable Delta Conservation
📅 On March 17, 2025, Dr. Pichaya Surapolchai, Director of CUSRI Academy, CUSRI, participated in the First UNCCRD Delta Summit 2025 under the theme “DeltasUNite to Save Our Deltas” at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Conference Center.
🔎📜 This summit aimed to develop a White Paper to be presented to the United Nations in support of the United Nations Convention on Conservation of River Deltas (UNCCRD), which was disclosed and approved at COP28.💡Discussions at the summit focused on pressing issues faced by deltas worldwide, such as rising sea levels 🌊, pollution ♻, and urban expansion 🏙. The event brought together participants from diverse sectors, including governments, academic institutions, the private sector, and local communities, to collaboratively develop policies and strategies for delta conservation.
✨ CUSRI is committed to supporting sustainable delta conservation and development. Participation in this summit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences with experts and representatives from around the world.
